Dress Code

Forest Park Middle School Uniform Dress Policy

Uniform dress creates a climate with a greater sense of school identity and belonging, expands academic excellence, and improves student behavior and safety. We believe that the principles of modesty, professionalism, and good taste are core values represented in the CCPS Uniform Dress Code.

 All students should adhere to the Clayton County Schools’ Uniform Dress Attire. The basic uniform shall consist of a long or short-sleeved collared shirt (i.e. polo, oxford, or dress shirt) in white, burgundy, or gold/yellow and khaki, black, or navy bottoms.

 

Tops or Shirts

• Tops will have either a polo style collar or oxford/ button down collar in solid white, burgundy, or gold/yellow color ONLY.

• Shirts must cover the waistline.

• Shirts longer than three inches below the waistline should be tucked inside pants, shorts, or skirts.

Uniform shirt collars should be visible when wearing sweatshirts, sweaters, or light jackets indoors.

Pants/Shorts/Skirts

• Bottoms will be KHAKI, BLACK, or NAVY color ONLY.  No camouflage patterns. No sagging bottoms. Undergarments should not be visible.

• No denim or jeans.

• Dresses, skirts, shorts, and skorts, including slits, must not be shorter than 3 inches above the bend of the knee.

• Skinny pants, tights, or leggings/jeggings that substitute as pants are not acceptable.

• No denim or jeans.

• Pants must be completely buckled, belted, buttoned or fastened and without tears.

• Pants shall be worn so that the waistband is worn at the waist and not below the waist.

Other important information

• No headgear of any kind (hoods, scarves, bonnets, skull caps, “doo rags”, etc.) unless for documented religious purposes.

• Flip-flops, shower shoes, skate shoes, slides, and house slippers are not permitted.
